In 1920, on the 1st of November, in Hamburg / Germany, it was decided to found the company Remy & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft. The first entry in the commercial register was made on the 4th of November 1920 under the number HRA 24600. Founding members were Mr. Hermann Remy and Dr. Rudolf Mutz, partners were also Mr. Emil Blum and Mr. Georg Mutz. As Mr. Emil Blum had good connections to Chemische Industrie Corporation in Gelsenkirchen – Schalke, Remy & Co. received the rights of sale for some of the products of this company. Additionally, close contacts to other German manufacturing companies such as Mathes & Weber, Duesseldorf, Chemische Fabrik Koeln Kalk and other well-known German manufacturers were established.
